Dr. Raker provides you with the knowledge needed in his OccMed For DC's
2 Day
Training Seminar. It is critical that you take Dr. Raker's information and become well
versed in the many aspects of this business before you start and become certified in
federal guidelines. This is to ensure accuracy and compliance in the testing and
reporting process. It's important that you know your skill level and scope of practice in
the state in which you are practicing. Some reporting and professional aspects of this
business may require a physician to approve, perform or authorize testing, such as
medical surveillance for Audiometric, EKG and Cardiac Stress Testing (EET). We work
with physicians that can provide some of these services for you in a professional
services agreement with you working under supervised direct orders (SDO).
This is a new business for you, and there is a lot to learn in a short period. We
recommend that you have in place the equipment, training, and certifications before
marketing your occupational services.
Employers may inquire about your knowledge, experience, and certification of the
health evaluation services you provide. You may only have one opportunity to answer
all their questions and get their business. Getting the experience and the confidence
you need is the second step in the process of performing the many services to the
hundreds of employers that need it in your area.
Your trainers will be Dr. Hebert, Dr. Raker, and our healthcare staff at Arklatex Health
Center in Texarkana, Arkansas providing additional hands-on experience.
